May the Force Be With You: A Star Wars Sneaker Story

Ever since Star Wars: A New Hope released in 1977 the film has gained a cult following that has led to a plethora of collaborations and memorabilia. However, it has sometimes not always hit the nail on the head when it comes to sneakers and its voyage into streetwear.

Recently, the the film franchise now owned by Disney has collaborated with Uniqlo and Vetements to deliver Star Wars streetwear that isn't as disliked as Jar Jar Binks. However, there is a disappointment with the brands that release these Star Wars themed sneakers as they usually are just collectibles and don't deliver on style nor functionality. It's a pity considering the vast subject matter there is to work with but hopefully we can expect some heat in the future.

Although there have been some sneakers that are as bad as a Storm Troopers aim... there are some hits.

Here are our favorite Star Wars sneakers that have released:

adidas Alphaedge 4D Star Wars Death Star

adidas Alphaedge 4D Star Wars Death Star

adidas' innovative and futuristic 4D sole is a match made in heaven for the film franchise. This sleek silhouette and use of boundary pushing technology is an exciting and visually appealing sneaker.

adidas Nite Jogger Star Wars Storm Trooper

adidas Nite Jogger Star Wars Storm Trooper

adidas' introduction of the Nite Jogger was a huge success by providing a stylish sneaker that makes use of boost technology and is incredibly affordable. This sneaker uses the Storm Trooper colorway of black and white with a hint of blue. This one is perfect for the sneakerhead that loves Star Wars. It can fit seamlessly with any outfit.

Vans Slip-On Star Wars

Vans Slip-On Star Wars (A New Hope)

Cringey for some, an absolute flex for others. Throw on some long white socks and you're good to go!

adidas Superstar Star Wars

adidas Superstar Star Wars

adidas Superstars are an iconic sneaker that are a staple for many sneakerheads. This Star Wars edition is a great way to differentiate your Superstars from everyone else. The nods to Star Wars are very subtle and don't show that you're a mega-nerd. Swap out the laces if it's over the top!

So if you're into sneakers and Star Wars, go for these and you'll look more like Lando than Jabba.
