The History of Nike Air Max 90
With 2020 being the 30th anniversary of the iconic Nike Air Max 90, let’s have a look at how it all started and where the famous silhouette has gone.
In 1990, the Air Max III (as it was known back then) was released three years after the Air Max I.
Designer Tinker Hatfield was really on to something when making the Air unit visible on the sole. The Air Max 90 accentuated this by having an enhanced Air bag with a bold infrared colorway to make sure that it wasn’t missed.
30 years later Nike has confirmed the release of the Air Max 2090 which will be dropping in a greyish white colorway with bold red and blue accents.

Nike will definitely have big plans for the 30th anniversary this coming Air Max Day with speculation over re-releases of the Infrared and the collaboration with Dave’s Quality Meat for the “Bacon”.

Stay tuned for what Sneaker LAB has in store this Air Max Day.
